Tabi Channel "Nightscape of Japan" Information

#21 | Nightscape of Sasebo

Sasebo City is rich in nature, surrounded by mountains and the sea. Climbing the surrounding mountains, you can enjoy the night view of Sasebo from various directions. The first thing you will notice is the dazzling lights that surround the bay. Sasebo's shipyards began building ships over 100 years ago, and their huge cranes have been used to build many huge ships.
Leaving Sasebo Port, the rias coastline continues. The beautiful natural landscape of 208 islands along the coast is called the Kujuku Islands and is designated as a national park. The westernmost point of the Japanese mainland is also located here in Sasebo City. The nighttime scenery created by the small islands illuminated by moonlight is also beautiful.
